Dara has been playing the clarsach for 12 years, starting off in Ballycastle, playing traditional Irish music. Recently, she has become more experimental in her playing, fusing genres, incorporating percussion and other techniques to create a unique style. Since moving to Edinburgh in 2019, Darra has been establishing herself in a more contemporary style, playing with bands and collaborating with artists in venues around Edinburgh, as well as solo performances using effects and loop pedals on the harp.
